4) Finally, extreme weather events also play a key role in driving attention to climate change, but the level of attention varies depending on the type of extreme weather.
1) Using Google Trends data from 2004 to 2022, we identify the highest spikes in national “climate attention” and correlate these moments with relevant events that may have driven these upticks.
