I know he's said that he doesn't feel he understands them well enough to represent them, but then why not have writing staff who can? There was all of one single story written by a woman in all of his series. It's not a good look.
But it also worries me that this might mean the BBC want to scale back on progressive elements in Doctor Who going forward.
For all this era's faults, I felt it was so important, that we needed the show more than ever, to loudly stand against the far right wave.
& I'm still annoyed at the double standard of changing Davros's iconic design because he felt it was offensive to portray disabled people as villains, and then make a stereotypical camp drag queen be a new villain.
