Today marks 85 years since the first Soviet mass deportations in Estonia.
More than 10,000 people torn from their homes. 7,000 of them women, children, and the elderly.
We will never forget the innocent lives shattered and lost.
We will stand for our freedom.

Government approval is in: Estonia is investing over 5️⃣% of GDP in defence — a historic commitment to protect our people and strengthen NATO.💪

The flag can be seen in Tartu, in front of the Estonian National Museum, until August 20, Estonia’s Day of Restoration of Independence.
Titled “Colours of Freedom”, it was originally created to mark the 100th anniversary of Estonia’s independence.

1 German-Netherlands Corps will assume NATO’s primary responsibility for the defence posture of 🇪🇪Estonia and 🇱🇻Latvia later this year.

Today we celebrate 142 years of the Estonian blue-black-white flag 🇪🇪— a symbol of our freedom, identity and resilience.
To mark the occasion, we raised a unique flag created from 1,136 photos by Estonian people, capturing the colours of our shared home.
In June 1941 Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus faced the same atrocities. In total, 95,000 people were deported. Terror to suppress any possible resistance— something Russia is repeating in Ukraine today. A crime against humanity that has no statute of limitations.
