A federal judge put Trump's $1.7 billion slush fund on notice.
Judge Richard Leon pressed DOJ lawyers to put in writing that the fund isn't moving forward. When asked why they wouldn't, the DOJ's answer was: "I don't know."
The fund survived today—but its leash just got shorter.
