whole thread is really good too. I've been trying to find somewhere to live where I can walk or take public transport to most things. and not be in middle of big city. and not be outrageously expensive. nearly impossible, frankly.

If the world is chaotic, collapsing, emerging, reordering, regenerating, recombinant, fractal, with most of the deep stuff underground or loop upon loop of feedback why would you expect your life or your work to be tidy and orderly. Hmm?
For those of us who want to make the world better, one thing we need to do is stop waiting for shit to happen. We need to start proactively building the systems we want to see. And that includes developing actual defenses against bad actors. So we're not always reactive and a step behind.
The generational collapse in literacy is measurable, persistent, and likely to get worse.
