I cover the St. Louis Cardinals for the Belleville News-Democrat. Everything else is a take specially designed for you.

JoJo Romero is firing in the Cardinals bullpen. He's pitched once in the last seven days, so I would assume he asked for the work.
Matt Svanson has gotten six outs on 13 pitches and could very well be in line for a three-inning save attempt.
Alec Burleson drops the hammer. 9-2
This has not been a competitive series through its first two games. A six-game winning streak ties the longest of the season for the Cardinals to date, and nine games above .500 matches their high water mark. They hit as many homers as they allowed hits tonght.
They are playing Bryan Torres' walk-up music as a karaoke bit between half innings here at Citi. Seems welcoming!
Pallante through six on 93 pitches and the bullpen is starting to go. Struck out five, only allowed two runs on a homer, though one of those was a walk after a 2-0 count. That start, by definition, is quality.
