The Republicans Prop 187'd themselves. Prop 187 was a 1994 anti-immigrant ballot initiative that Republicans passed. Struck down by the courts, it transformed California from a purple state into a blue one because of the Latino backlash to Republicans it generated.
Now you and I know damn well they will blame the "establishment". That part's a certainty, because there's no way he was a bad candidate.
This is a shameful chapter in American history. The people who are being promoted will have to be intensely scrutinized by the next administration for racist and far right views.
I'm convinced that the big story in November won't be a Senate race in Maine. It will be Democratic overperformance in the South due to a massive Black turnout and a depressed turnout among Republicans. There are going to be some upsets.
Yeah, they're gonna hang him around the neck of every Democrat this fall.
And they worship Trump because he's the asshole they long to be.
He's a bad candidate, but also part of a leftist/DSA vanguard trying to hijack the party. There's another bad DSA Senate candidate in el-Sayed, who is potentially an even bigger disaster. Primary is in August. Best thing centrists can do is back sane Dem alternatives like Stevens in Michigan.
Carving out room for minority groups is foundational to the issue of what kind of country we want to be. If you view it as tangential to other issues, your politics are shitty. Diverse leadership facilitates better outcomes for everyone. Don't believe me? Look at the all white present administration

Question of the day:
If Platner gets his ass kicked in November, will he be referred to as a bad candidate, or will it be the fault of the "Democratic establishment" or "centrists"?
Just asking for early clarification.
Trump screwed himself when he screwed Latino voters www.dailykos.com/stories/2026...
