"plausible deniability" is one of the best, most effective tools of systemic racism & bias
the ability to somewhat vaguely explain things away; to hide behind "hard to prove"
but: that gut feeling you have? sometimes you are spot on.
at the same time, you just can't let it stop you.
keep. going.
a lot of awards happening...

This came up a few times over the weekend, so I thought I'd repost to socials!
Locus listed 2,116 titles in 2025; not a comprehensive "all SFF books published" but a fair chunk
So. Many. GREAT books, stories & more will never win an award.
Not for lack of deserving
But for the imperfect nature of awards.
If you didn't land on a list?
You are still AWESOME!
Stay awesome!❤️🔥
I am *ridiculously* happy to be on this list!
The Ignytes are special. The organizers are doing work that actually improves our community.
Being in the company of the folks on the list is an honor in itself; but also, being recognized by *this* set of people...? Seriously, I'm very moved by this.
Status: in Pittsburgh for StokerCon
