After @wpiers.bsky.social
and Muralee Murugesu, @marcuswdrover.bsky.social showed which great chemistry is done in Canada. Thanks for visiting #CHEMnitz and your fantastic talk

We very much enjoyed the visit of Wolfram Pernice and his insightful talk in our joined chemistry-physics @gdch.de colloquium at Technische Universität Chemnitz. Thanks for visting #CHEMnitz
Guido Clever from @bci-tudortmund.bsky.social kicked-off our @gdch.de 2026 lecture series with an amazing talk on supramolecular chemistry. Thanks for visiting #CHEMnitz

It was a lot of fun to give the traditional #CHEMnitz Christmas lecture. Great to such a good resonance and we finally made it into the News: www.ardmediathek.de/video/mdr-sa...

This week we had the great pleasure to have Florian Kraus (Marburg soon to be in Bonn) in our @gdch.de colloquium here at #CHEMnitz. Fascinating insights into a world of chemistry we could never touch. Fun fact: He also showed results from his co-worker Tobias Chemnitz
Happy to see our joint work with @hering-lab.bsky.social on Gallium/Group 15 Heterocycles that we dedicated to Manfred Scheer on the occasion of his 70th birthday
published. Congrats to the team and many thanks to @dfg.de for funding.

The degradation of the kinetically inert and potent greenhouse gas sulfur hexafluoride by a bimetallic main-group ambiphile (Lewis amphotere) is reported. Reaction of the bis(gallylene) 1 with SF6 at 80 °C results in the selective formation of the bimetallic gallium(II) fluoride 2. Irradiation with UV light or the addition of 4-dimethylaminopyridine (4-DMAP) accelerates the reaction, enabling it to proceed already at room temperature. Computations reveal a bimetallic activation scenario and shed light on the accelerating effect of 4-DMAP.

The ambident reactivity of the bis(gallylene) is demonstrated by the reactions with azobenzene and the triphosphirane (PMes)3, which give rise to a bis(spirocyle) and a 1,2-diphospha-3,4-digalletane,...
