Today is the feast day of St Dogmael (Dogfael), the 6th-century holy figure whose name lives on in the Pembrokeshire village of St Dogmaels.
Outside St Dogmaels Abbey stands John Clarke’s wooden statue of the saint, carved in 2002 to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
