To improve climate journalism, I suggest that current and future journalists receive training in climate literacy and cross-beat training, as climate change intersects with all news beats 7/7
Because of its technicality and interdisciplinary nature, covering climate change is time-consuming, which means it is often deprioritized 6/7
They link these poor metrics to a lack of news value, particularly in terms of timeliness and personalization 5/7
At the same time, many journalists describe it as “boring” due to poor audience metrics 4/7
Climate change is increasingly seen as highly relevant and important, and is therefore given higher priority in newsrooms 3/7

Det er interessant, hvordan mange journalister under valgkampen har stillet spørgsmålet ”Får vi et klimavalg”? som om, det er fuldstændigt ude af deres hænder. Klimaet kom i 2019 til at dominere valgkampen, fordi medierne endte med at prioritere danskernes dagsorden frem for politikernes.
