The reason why I wanted to experience a Japan doujin event specifically is because they arrange tables by genre/fandom and character/pairings.
It's perfect for me, someone who only draws one fandom at a time (+ niche at that). I just want to draw what I like and not appeal to multi-fandom lol
Oops...it's been 2 weeks, and I forgot to do the report...keeping it pretty straightforward! I got to experience the following for Super Comic City:
- finishing my first doujinshi ever
- work with a Japanese printing service and the books were shipped directly to my table 🥺
Photo on that day:
I think I went for the doujin making despite LXH being soooo niche is because Chi Nian really is like a combination of everything I've liked in a character from early of my fandom career (stern hot-blooded type) to what it evolved the past couple years (older/mentor bottom, mother hen, booba lol).
I also like how Japanese events still maintain this "small amateur artists friendly" vibe that I don't really feel anymore at cons. Their tables are small, circles don't have huge catalog, and is very much about token of love >>> profit. The circle next to me just had one book, like myself.
Thanks to this, the fans know exactly what tables to go to, and it really helped the book sellng especially when I didn't print a lot 🥺
And I got to sit in between two other circles with same niche pairing as me 🥺 (there were like only 3-4 of us) I was so happy that LXH fans came...
