Alongside leading health and environmental organisations, we’re calling on the Mayor of London to introduce a Dutch-style zero-emission zone for freight.
These zones in the Netherlands are helping accelerate the shift to electric vans and trucks by giving businesses clear, long-term certainty.
Nearly 20,000 people are killed on roads in the EU every year, and most of them aren't in cars.
The change we want to see starts with lower default speed limits, school streets to protect children, and measures to tackle carspreading so that our cities are built for people, not cars.
🌟 Curious Cities Assembly 2026 is all about how cities can turn evidence into action for safer, healthier and more liveable places.
The gathering is taking place on 24-25 June in central London during London Climate Action Week.

📈 Diesel vans registered by businesses in London have hit an all-time high
At the end of 2025, there were more than 100,000 diesel vans registered by companies in London - that’s 18 diesel vans for every 1 company-registered electric van.
🚲 @etsc.eu has highlighted a growing gap ➡️ while more people are choosing to cycle, progress in reducing cyclist deaths is stalling.
If we want more people to cycle, we also need to make it safe - including 30km/h speed limits & protected, high-quality cycling infrastructure. www.etsc.eu/pinflash50
London is falling behind on cleaning up diesel vans - but it doesn’t have to be this way.

Through the lens of children’s curiosity, we’ll explore evidence-led, practical steps so that everyone can move with independence, not car dependence.
In-person spaces are free but limited, so we’re asking people to register their interest at the link below.
