Check out our new paper where we doubbling the known diversity of Developea (Stramenopiles) with 8 new species and 2 new genera. Some have multiflagellated stages and self-aggregations! Some are omnivorous (i.e. survive on either eukaryotic or prokaryotic prey)!

Beautiful expansion microscopy pictures were obtained at @dudinlab.bsky.social lab. ExM not only helped us to clarify the Discocelia cell structure, but also facilitated subsequent TEM studies.
New paper is out! We have studied the cute tiny Discocelia plataet sp. n. to obtain the first molecular data of the order Discocelida and clarify its cell structure. All this for a better understanding of the evolution of Cercozoa.
