I disagree that this essay is good, but it does effectively illustrate an impossible bind that a lot of Jews are now being placed in by a minority of anti-Israel voices - expected to disavow Zionism and Israel, but all expressions of Jewish culture even pre-1948 are seen as inherently Zionist.
