Yucatec Maya correct name is Maya, Maaya Wíinik or Maya Peninsular. The name Yucatec means they are indigenous to the Yucatán Peninsula, encompassing the states of Yucatán, Campeche and Quintana Roo, as well as the Corozal, Orange Walk, and Cayo districts of northern and western Belize.
