According to the most recent data from HOME Line, eviction filings remained persistently high during April 2026, up 8% compared to April 2025, and 9.1% above the three-year average (2023-25) for the month.

Tomorrow, the Mpls City Council is deciding whether to overturn the Mayor's veto of the pre-eviction notice extension. The state legislature is considering $40 million in rental assistance. Contact your city councilmember and legislator & urge them to support our neighbors via these two efforts.

1,977 evictions were filed across MN in April—8% above April '25 & 9.1% above 3-year average. This continues pattern of increased, record-setting eviction filing activity—8,199 filings total thus far in 2026 (2.2% above '25 rate & 9.4% above 3-year average).
