I will see how my inner conflict plays out over Lost Boys...
I am so of two minds about seeing Lost Boys on Broadway. On the one hand, it is everything I hate about musicals. And everyone seems to agree as a musical is is a solid mediocre.
BUT!
It is also a grand spectacle. And I do love a grand spectacle. And it is such a spectacle it will likely not tour
none of the people who made it in your field knew they will be succesful starting out.
I was watching Manben episode on Shigeru Mizuki, he was an art prodigy at 16, went off to war, lost his hand, lived in poverty, created Kintaro at 38 and even then got serialised at 42. That’s what he’s known for.
Oh. My. God.
I HAD A front seat to the original Broadway cast of HADESTOWN and it remains one of the most magnificent things I have ever seen in my life.
