Today I had flat white with a robin fledgling, it was lovely.
I have a deep well of sympathy for all those working under the threat of redundancy. Glen's piece captures the emotions of the collapses, closures, losses and slashes. We feel every cut.
I think the way the BBC discusses immigration and equality plays a part in the legitimisation of the far right. Once again I'm hearing the Today Programme on Radio 4 establish the riots and their prejudices as "real concerns." So I'm again sharing @trillingual.bsky.social's book, Tolerate This.

One of the insidious tactics of Reform is to make out all "ordinary" Northern men are sexist. They're not.
An isolated tragedy in Belfast is being used as an excuse for racist thuggery, all in the name of patriotism. Musk, Farage and their cronies are spreading hate, and trying to divide our communities. But we won't let them. We know the truth: there's many, many more of us than them๐Ÿงก

We need to talk about where the reproductive politics of pronatalism is actually leading us. Read my essay here: emilyehoyle.substack.com/p/male-seeds... #culturalcritique #transhumanism #pronatalism #socialcommentary #independentwriter
Something Very Bad is Going to Happen peels back the traditional wedding fantasy to reveal something much more sinister. What did you think of the miniseries? Read my piece here: emilyehoyle.substack.com/p/somethingb... #substack #netflix #dufferbrothers #thriller #popculture

The pod @quietriotpod.bsky.social is keeping me company and keeping me sane. Today's ep discusses the royals and their finances. The @republiccampaign.bsky.social are great ofc but I thought of @lauraclancy.bsky.social's fantastic book, Running The Family Firm. open.spotify.com/episode/5xiM...

What's it actually feel like to live through the decline and fall of mass Higher Education in Britain? Today I've written about this from the inside here... Hope you like it, and hope you find it useful. isrf.org/blog/what-do...
