The especially stupid thing about this is that we live in a time when it’s ridiculously easy (for kids and adults) to look things up! If you come across a reference you don’t understand you can find out what it means in seconds, maybe even with the same device you’re using to read!

i understand how we got here i guess but the collective amnesia is unhinged...kids like everyone have always read books from other times, because they're good and also you learn things?
