I just unlocked a new achievement badge.
The intended item went in the can and stayed, but this time it ejected a different item already in the can. It came out like it was launched from one of those giant inflatable catapult bags you see people use near water.

My special talent is to be standing directly over a trash can and either missing it entirely or have the item hit something already in the can and bounce out.
This does not preclude me, however, from attempting the 15-foot down the hallway shots into the way too small of an opening recycle bins.
