I think @holz-bau.bsky.social would be interested in this one. It got me thinking about the larger conversation about arterial streets in cities.
Before curb cuts no one noticed people in wheel chairs because they couldn’t get to places. Funny that when curb cuts appeared so did the people using wheel chairs. Just because you don’t see them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

Today US DOT rescinded regulations on disparate-impact liability. Sounds wonky but it's a critical way Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 has protected communities of color from disproportionate harms from transportation decisions and required proactive analysis on the fairness of benefits
