Happy World Water Day 🌊
Covering 3% of land, peatland and wetlands rely on anaerobic conditions to sequester carbon.
Drainage can severely damage these waterlogged conditions and continue to emit carbon.
Maintaining the water table integrity is essential for their survival.

Happy World Curlew Day!
Curlews are tactile, deep-probing foragers. The bill is the longest relative to body size of any European wading bird, and its tip is densely innervated with Herbst corpuscles, mechanoreceptors that detect prey movement and substrate vibration at depth.

Providing a forum to unite researchers working across all aspects of peatland and wetland science.
