It's simple: Texas needs to increase the state minimum salary and per-pupil allotment to pay teachers a living wage.
Teachers don't want incentive programs that most will never qualify for. It's time for Texas to pay its fair share of public eduction.
I oppose incentive pay for Texas teachers for two main reasons:
👎 The distribution is inconsistent and unfair across districts.
👎 It's being used as a substitute for a real, living wage.
