Speaking for myself, I find nothing entertaining in watching one participant trying to render his/her opponent unconscious (a “knock out”). It scarcely matters that these contests might more likely end with “technical” knockouts or surrenders. It’s just not my cup of tea. (I do like Santo, though.)
The main reason I try to temper my remarks in regard to UFC fighting is that I know that there are plenty of fundamentally decent men and women who participate in this activity, and plenty of fundamentally decent people who seem to derive entertainment by watching it.
