Dr. Sanne van Oosten
I think about this a lot when engaging with the media.
Just because my research say, in my case, that voters discriminate against Muslim politicians heavily, does not mean that political parties should take my research and let it shape their choices.
As academics, we should reflect more on this.
Going to the EPSS conference in Belfast next week and I am following the news extra closely on the violence and destruction going on there right now.
My heart goes out to all the victims. I hope people find a way of living together in peace and justice soon.
🚨NEW PUBLICATION🚨 in Science Advances. We meta-reanalyze 100 conjoint experiments to assess which immigrants citizens prefer around the world. Our evidence reinforces existing findings, identifies novel insights, and provides a basis for future research 1/n www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
🆕 Birds of a feather voting together? 🪽 🗳️
@sbvanoosten.bsky.social assesses respondents decision's across hypotheticals in France, Germany and the Netherlands to discuss politician identity vs policy position and the impacts on #VotingBehaviour
Dit lijkt me de meest belangrijke vraag voor journalisten: wist Tata dit vantevoren?
✨ It has happened, finally. A reviewer has suggested I should really cite a paper by Sanne van Oosten. ✨
⁉️Do immigrant candidates get the immigrant vote?
Many party strategists assume they do. But do they really?
Short answer: Nope. And I have done the research to support this.

& www.binnenlandsbestuur.nl/carriere/cyb...
Today, I will be leading a workshop on different academic models of co-authorship and their (dis)advantages.
