more writing advice, because I apparently do that now: sometimes things just aren't done cooking yet. unless you're on a strict deadline, it's okay to back off of something and let some life happen to you to inform your artistic decisions let your life inform your art. ask "what does this tell me"

learn to be curious about how you're going to pull something off. "how would I say this" not as exhortation but as genuine question remember that writing is a form of surgery. you normally can't jump straight to removing the organ, you have to cut around it first. you might have to crack a few ribs
