All tech-tech will be Grav as whilst the location and composition of The Colony is unknown it is likely built on a planet similar to the gas giant home of the Vespid to suit a mimicked culture.
I have two of these to build, each kit is donating one drone bay to the command saucer for it to be a more drone-commander role. It'll also feature a warp tunnelling device and a new vespid affiliated bug species acting as drone controller
If find the droneport to be the most aesthetically cool of the tau designs, so having it become central to my colony vespid tech was a natural choice. It also feeds into that flying saucer nostalgic sci-fi vibe, the idea of these bizarre rotating vessels on the battlefield.
The third saucer should be constructed end of this week or early next week, it'll be a Hero version crewed by a Stalag-Mite, an odd cumbersome insectoid with a unique fascination for gathering technology and adapted to integrating it.
The Colony - Nightspinner
Flying Saucer
A fusion of Tau tech and votann grav thrusters the Night Spinner lives up to its name, able to rotate the missile and outer rings seperately to provide defensive fire whilst never losing track of its target.

The Colony so far...
Integrating the Saucer vehicles into the army setup, having both biotech and techy tech helps keep them distinct from Tyranids but also shows the growing arsenal of the ancestor core integrating salvaged tech from the galaxy into his Colony.

Its a poor digi-mockup but the concept is based on the classic sci-fi flying saucer using multiple drone sections of the droneport to give 360 drone coverage and loring it out as a rapidly rotating vessel with a central teleport platform to warp tunnel units in.
