#Wisconsin #prisons can record inmate phone calls. Police can access those recordings. But #Journalists? They can’t record interviews without risking disciplinary action for the incarcerated person. If the public can't hear directly from people inside state institutions, transparency suffers.
The Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council and Ex-Incarcerated People Organizing of Wisconsin are raising concerns about a policy that restricts when phone calls from prisoners can be recorded.
