One advantage to condensed summer classes is that I find students seem to be more inclined to read and address comments made in laddered assignments. This usually results in final projects that are delightful to read.
Next weekend is going to be rough. Grading laddered assignments during condensed (7-week) summer classes sucks. Students need the feedback pronto so they can begin working on the second part of their research project asap. In other words, I won’t be getting much sleep next weekend.
