Very bad news. Screwworm appears to have made it to Texas, as was predicted. These parasites eat the living flesh of cattle, cause horrible pain, and can ultimately kill them. Yesterday, USDA Chief Brooke Rollins categorically denied that screwworm was close to the border.
"We're kind of fighting this one with several hands tied behind our back,” Konyndyk told ABC News.
