thinking abt my attachment to realism lately- it's what i default to when painting & i enjoy how evocative it is on a sensory/tactile imitation level but also it's rarely what i'm drawn to in other people's art. shrug. it's always felt strange to me to try to consciously cultivate A Personal Style
not in the sense that that it's bad to do i guess but it feels sort of artificial to me to attempt to make conscious stylization of one sort or another into, like, My Brand? ig what i'm angling at is idk if i love the way my work looks rn but it would feel weird to do a total overhaul on purpose
