Happy World Ocean Day!
The ocean is the heart of our life support system, without which weâd all be dead. Itâs taken up >90% of the heat from global warming and 30% of our COâ emissions. In return, we give it 11 million tonnes of plastic annually, which animals ingest and also become entangled in.
On a day that many might be headed to the beach, take a moment to consider some of the widespread impacts of all of that plastic, and the ongoing efforts to clean it up.

We just published a blog post on AI-generated papers in the Position Paper Track.
The core issue is not whether AI can be useful, but who bears the cost of verifying AI-generated text in peer review.
We have desk-rejected around 30% of submissions, with roughly 60% of these w/o an appeal option.
