At Long Covid Kids, we have seen and shared similar experiences reported by many young people. Families regularly share stories of children and young people feeling disbelieved, misunderstood, or dismissed by others.
Children and families described experiences of not feeling believed or understood by healthcare professionals, friends, teachers, and others around them. These experiences can impact relationships, self-confidence, and how young people see themselves..
The survey results supported these personal accounts, suggesting that stigma is not experienced by just a few families but may be a common challenge for many children and young people living with Long Covid.
At Long Covid Kids, we have seen similar experiences reported by many of our supporters.
