Seattle's light rail system surpassed Atlanta's MARTA in ridership in April — an interesting milestone given the history. After Seattle/King County voters rejected plans for a heavy-rail system in 1968 and 1970, federal funds slated for the project ultimately helped build MARTA instead. #transit
