this is what i mean when i say ai is a rhetorical technology. functionally this is a tool for *justifying deportation*, not a tool for assessing age. when someone is pitching an ai product, don't ask them what it's supposed to do. ask yourself what it's supposed to justify

i've also seen several articles saying AI will find a treatment for long covid. how will an AI that synthesizes existing data be able to make sense of a novel illness when the extant data is paltry and there's no funding for original research? it's like being told the AI can spin straw into gold.
