Being against bike lanes is the number one red flag there’s deeper, darker views a person holds that we just don’t know about
The proposed provincial regulations around e-bikes are [shockingly] pretty good! Better distinguishing between e-bikes and other e-moped/motorcycle style vehicles is long overdue.
What we still want to see: lowering the 120 kg max weight for Class 2, and mandatory battery safety standards.
"Cycle Toronto’s suggestion to press the federal government to require consistent standards for e-bike batteries is also a worthy one, given the risk of fires."
but "Olivia Chow hates drivers!!!!!11!!!eleven!!"
How we roll to the #CanMNT World Cup opener in Toronto.

Electric bicycles have become a danger on the streets, putting pedestrians, traditional cyclists and e-bike riders themselves at risk. Better regulation is needed. www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/edit... via @theglobeandmail.com
The foot dragging on Parkside Dr and Eglinton point to a disconnect: on the surface Mayor Chow and this Council are very supportive of cycling, but the City isn't actually building bike lanes any faster than under Mayor Tory
