“I’m afraid to go to the gym. Ppl will judge and make fun of me!” I blame modern media for this false belief so many hold. Most gym bros are nerds. Former fat/scrawny kids who worked hard to achieve their ideal body. As such they’re incredibly empathetic and encouraging to others on that journey.
