In 1952, Ralph Goldston and Don Stevens became the first two Black men to play for the Eagles. RB/DB Goldston came out of Indiana and Youngstown State. He played four seasons, scoring 3 TDs as a rookie. Illinois RB Stevens played in the 1952 and 1954 seasons, totaling 305 scrimmage yards.
