Here's my review of Boykoff's "Red Card". It's an excellent book and I highly recommend it. Also, it is short and incisive, so you still have time to read it before the World Cup kicks off! FIFA and the World Cup is sportswashing Trump’s America idrottsforum.org/wojjak_boyko...
Current Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) at the San Francisco Bay Area stadium is 28°C. At this level, FIFA does not take any action, but FIFPRO and experts are in agreement that this match should be delayed. Source: American Industrial Hygiene Association. www.bbc.com/sport/footba... #QATSUI
I think Boykoff also makes a bit of a case for watching the tournament. This isn't his main focus, but he clearly sees football as *ours*. To boycott is, I think, to cede too much of this, and instead we need to find creative ways to protest, or at least resist sportwashing.
Found out my 2-year-old nephew supports corruption in FIFA
