The particulate Cu budget is overwhelmingly controlled by natural weathering processes. Preferential retention of heavy Cu in the dissolved pool leaves the residual SPM enriched in lighter isotopes. Subsequent sorption onto clays and Fe‑Mn oxides creates an efficient basin‑wide sorting effect. 🌊🧪🪨
