Chapter 2.3 is a “digression” about, basically, guns being cool.
There’s an interesting historical point in there about 19th/early 20th century militaries needing interchangeable and easy to maintain weapona, and how this feeds and reinforces Fordism.
But oh man does it all smack of gender.
