My late partner had a year's wait for a neurology appointment at Canberra hospital. She paid for her own MRI. Bumped up list, the neurosurgeon dismissed the scan. When her brain exploded she was left in ED corridor.
She had stage 4 brain cancer, died 8 months later.
Aus health system is fucked.

RMH sent me a letter in May 2025 saying I “may wait for up to 12 months for initial appointment” with the general surgery specialist clinic. Rang them last month since I never heard anything else from them. They couldn’t tell me how much longer I’d have to wait for an initial consult after 1 year
