my quick summary of Calvin’s view of the Eucharist is this: Christ does NOT descend to become bread at the Table; Instead, at the Table, WE ARE ASCENDED to be with Christ. 🥰🥰🥰

I’m finally reading the chapter on Eucharist in the Institutes (Bk IV, Chpt 17), and it is wild to see how the Reformed view on spiritual presence is leveraged through Calvin’s understanding of Christology — and Augustine! and he spends a *lot* of time on this topic (this chapter has 50 sections!)
