"Knock, knock. It's me, the white nationalist militia. We're wondering if you own a gun? Oh, you do? And you've taken the safety course? Now then, we'll throw molotovs at the next house instead. Y'all have a good night." - Laura Journalism's Beautiful Belfast, USA
I can think of a worse worst case scenario.
Also if you're leftist ex military and you think the left should have a militia ready to defend or retaliate or whatever... why don't you talk to your ex military friends who presumably also have gun + combat training not usually otherwise accessible and y'all do that? Something fishy there imo.
You boo & throw your tomatoes because of the great fear in your heart, but a day will come when making a big trail of gasoline around your house and up your stairs into your bed will be the safest thing you can do to control a potential house fire in the night. Just ask... [checks notes] Belle Fist.
I'm just still so irritated by that and just... some of these people have a FANTASY of getting to kill people in the streets, of things getting so bad that no one can blame them for taking a life. And those people help usher that stuff in. They escalate. I'm not a pacifist AT ALL, but this shit...
Idk, I think the Irish QTs would just like you to have a single clue what you're talking about when you gesture at Belfast and invoke what's happening there
The Irish are dogpiling me simply because I suggested Belfast would be safer if more people had guns.
It’s fine, I know they’re just lashing out to cope with feeling powerless. Not like me. My fantasy where I John Wick my way through a pogrom of people who also have guns makes me feel very powerful
You decided to make a very silly point about guns in the US on the back of a very serious, dangerous and frightening situation in a different country with a bloody history of horrific violence in part carried out with guns.
Northern Irish history and pain is not a platform for your bad takes.
The thing is that even if you look at American history this isn’t even close to true! The availability of guns didn’t stop Lynchings! If anything when Black community members armed themselves it made them targets for white racists
There is a form of engagement we would welcome though
