The further Putinisation of America. Stuck in a stupid war of choice he is losing, and with no clear strategy, the Dear Leader resorts to war crimes.
I feel that tech management is always desperate to find the One True Way To Get More Out Of These Annoying And Expensive Developers. Tbh I think a lot of this AI hype is about that.
- what if we could get rid of them and just tell computer to do stuff???
So you all, this is very good long post about what looks like a very bad but apparently hyped book, "Team Topologies". It will bring you to important aspects of software teams with humour.
Also, people interactions matter, in a "care and foster" way, not in a "divide and control" one
There's a thing that seems especially bad in that book : it seems to promote a view of software dev as precious diva snowflakes, which is a stereotype that produces endless horror - in both ways. It encourages dev at acting as such entitled morons, not questioning their spoiled child behavior ;
Some of your remark make me thought to "Radical Candor", in worst - and I didn't successfully finished that one. I know it is very highly regarded too, but I can't see it other than "yes, it's good to be a very effective piece in the machine, which is a big pyramidal power structure
@ruthmalan.bsky.social I don't know if you happened to already crossed that post, but I'm almost sure it will be of interest for you. It's a masterpiece. In constructive rage well spent, but also on socio-techno systems.
It's a bit long, but I'm sure that's not a problem

Just sent out. The USA seems to have committed war crime deliberately and openly, by destroying civilian access to water as summer approaches. It is strategically idiotic and morally repulsive--and needs to be acknowledged if the US has a chance to recover. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...
