On May 18, hundreds of teachers, students, and fellow citizens filled a county commissioners’ boardroom in Winston-Salem past bursting to demand support for the public school budget. Hundreds of us. We didn’t fully win, but we won something - squeezed over $1mill extra from a GOP majority.
