X-Men '97 Rewatch, S1, E3 - "Fire Made Flesh"
This episode is a tall order, basically trying to jam Inferno, one of the most complicated and longest burning X-Men events into a single half hour of television. I think it does it pretty well, given the limitations. We get a lot of the high notes
(Yes, I was absolutely the sort of kid who insisted the comic was better than the cartoon, because I was fucking right.)
EVERY DAY IS SHUT THE FUCK UP FRIDAY
and certainly all of the emotional beats. There are some parts that get short changed (why does Madelyne pick that name? Why is she the Goblin Queen), but we get all the emotional beats that are at the core of the Inferno story. And a bit more foreshadowing that I totally missed at the time.

I'm really curious to see if they do more with the Morph/Wolverine relationship in S2, because it is *so* heavily implied here.
Legit laugh of the episode for
"Wolverine, he's coming!"
"Who? Apocalypse?!"
"THE BABY!"
"Oh crap."
Anyway, this series is really good.
