NEW: Our visual analysis suggests the U.S. hit two drinking-water facilities overnight in southern Iran with precision-guided munitions. Deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure could constitute a war crime. w/ @ckoettl.bsky.social @johnismay.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2026/06/10/w...
Should X be banned? Yes. And it should have happened in January when non-consensual sexual imagery proliferated on the site. The government’s inaction on what is becoming increasingly a vehicle for violence and hate is appalling. Much more needs to be done. And quickly.
Immigrants & asylum seekers are not our enemies. They are not responsible for the austerity, privatisation, erosion of civic life, thinning of democracy and concentration of power we suffer. But they're being punished for these things. Punished at the behest of the very people who *are* responsible.
Condemning riots isn't enough. We need policy action, including an immediate appraisal of X as a vehicle for coordinating far-right disorder. And we need political leadership, to challenge white nationalism as an idea, not to validate it daily and then complain when it turns violent.
