A surprising amount of Popular Western Media is about the Horrors of Imperialism, written by citizens of empire with no perspective on what it means to be subject to that kind of erasure, brutality, epistemicide, and dehumanization. Its ubiquity and popularity is as fascinating as it is bizarre.
